Selby Jennings, Phaidon International’s talent brand specializing in the financial sciences and services industry, has published a suite of new regional reports for the USA, Europe, and APAC to help organizations and professionals assess the impact of this year’s bonus season.
Surveying over 5,700 financial professionals globally, each report analyzes overall bonus performance across the industry and the factors that influence them, whether bonuses met expectations, how this year’s payouts have affected job motivations and career decisions, and compares results between key sectors.
In addition, the USA and Europe reports contain a deeper dive into the survey results of each sector, while the APAC edition explores the differences between Hong Kong and Singapore, all featuring commentary and advice from Selby Jennings’ local talent market experts.
Some of the headline findings include:
77% of financial sciences and services professionals in the USA received a bonus, compared to 75% in APAC, and 72% in Europe.
In the USA, investment management professionals were most likely to receive a bonus increase compared to last year, while in APAC it was insurance & actuarial science professionals, and quantitative analytics and sales & trading talent in Europe.
57% of survey respondents in Europe and 54% in the USA said their bonus did not align with their expectations, while 51% of bonuses did not meet expectations in APAC.
When we asked about motivations, 59% in Europe said their current bonus doesn’t keep them motivated, 54% agreed in APAC, and so did 53% in the USA.
